If you or another driver on your auto insurance policy is 50 or older, you are eligible for the AARP Auto Insurance Program from The Hartford. This program might provide additional savings and benefits on your auto insurance.

RV Insurance, Motor Home Insurance, Trailer Insurance and More

Wherever the Road Takes You, You’re Covered

It’s more than a car, and it’s more than a home. It’s something special. That’s why your motor home, fifth-wheel travel trailer, folding camping trailer, conventional travel trailer, or truck camper needs special protection.

RV Insurance

From RV Insurance to Trailer Insurance, You’re Covered

Our motor home protection offers many of the same benefits and features as our auto insurance plan, to give you more value for your money—plus the special extras your special vehicle needs.

Bodily Injury Protection

This protects you against financial loss when you are held legally responsible for an automobile accident causing injury or death to someone else. This coverage also includes the legal costs involved in your defense for a covered suit as well as court costs and bail bond expenses.

The coverage amount is a "Split Limit," such as $100,000/$300,000. The first figure is the maximum limit provided for one injured person. The second figure is the limit provided for two or more persons in any one accident or occurrence.

Property Damage Liability

This covers you against financial loss if you are found liable for damage to other people's property (e.g. light poles, fences, another vehicle, etc.) caused by your auto.

Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury

This coverage pays bodily injury or death expenses for you and any passengers in your vehicle up to your policy limits if you're struck by a driver who doesn't have insurance, or if you're struck by a "hit-and-run" driver that you cannot identify.

Uninsured Motorist Property Damage

This coverage pays for damage to your vehicle when it is struck by an uninsured driver, a hit-and-run driver, or an insured driver whose Property Damage Liability limit is inadequate to cover the property damage losses incurred.

Underinsured Motorists

This coverage pays benefits for the bodily injury or death of you and any passengers in your car if you are involved in an accident caused by a driver who has some insurance, but not enough to cover the losses that result from the accident.

Personal Injury Protection (No-Fault)

Pays benefits for the cost of personal injuries resulting from an automobile accident. Coverage applies without regard to who was at fault in the accident. It applies only to injuries, and it does not cover damage to a car, or to any other property.

Medical Payments

This coverage pays reasonable and necessary medical expenses up to the selected limits, directly resulting from an auto accident. This may include medical care, recovery, rehabilitation and remedial care, as outlined in your policy. Coverage varies by state.

Collision

This pays for damage to your covered vehicle (up to its actual cash value), less the deductible amount, for losses caused by collision. Collision means contact with a physical object, such as another vehicle or a structure. If you plan to purchase Collision coverage, selecting a higher deductible generally helps to reduce the cost of your insurance.

This coverage is available only if you carry Comprehensive coverage.

Comprehensive

This pays for damage to your covered vehicle (up to actual cash value), less the deductible amount, as a result of damage caused by events such as: fire, theft, glass breakage, riot, windstorm and hail.

If you plan to purchase Comprehensive coverage, selecting a higher deductible generally helps to reduce the cost of your insurance.

Comprehensive is often required when your vehicle is financed or leased.

Towing & Labor

This coverage pays up to the selected limit for towing of your covered vehicle when it is inoperable, whether or not there is an accident involved. (Note: You must also select Comprehensive coverage to obtain this coverage.)

Rental Reimbursement

If your vehicle becomes inoperable due to a covered loss and you need to rent a car, this coverage pays the cost of the rental car up to your policy limits. This coverage is available only if you carry Comprehensive and Collision coverage.

$500 Towing Expenses

Few insurance companies provide a benefit large enough to cover the real costs of towing a motor home. But with The Hartford, each time your motor home is disabled, you are guaranteed up to $500 for towing and labor costs and as an option, you can add unlimited coverage for just $40. So you'll be paid for all your towing bills no matter what the cost.

$500 Emergency Expenses

When you're traveling more than 50 miles from home, and your motor home is damaged or destroyed, you're protected with up to $500 for temporary housing, travel expenses, and costs to return your RV to your home or appropriate storage place. This added benefit is an extension of your Comprehensive and Collision protection.

$750 Transportation Expenses

Should your motor home ever be damaged or stolen, you will be paid up to $25 a day for car rental, bus, train or other transportation expenses... to a total of $750. In case of theft, the combination of Emergency and Transportation Expense benefits will total a maximum of $750.

$50,000 Vacation Home Liability

While you're traveling and using your motor home as a residence, you're guaranteed up to $50,000 in personal liability protection. This covers you for legal liability in the event of bodily injury to someone else, or damage to their property.

Canada/Mexico Protection

While you’re traveling in Canada, you can rest assured your motor home is covered. While you’re traveling in Mexico, you're covered within 25 miles of the border, for up to 10 days, to the extent the law permits—but be sure to buy Mexican Liability coverage at the border. It's required by the Mexican law.
